SINTE is a consolidated research team (Generalitat of Catalonia, Ref. SGR-0819) that focus their research, training, and dissemination activities on studying the strategic learning paradigm and its different derivations and applications, both in formal education and non-formal education settings.

As an interuniversity team, it is organized into five units located at the four participating universities: two at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Identitat i estratègies: IdentitES, i Aprenentatge entre iguals: GRAI); one at Ramon Llull University (Estratègies de lectura i escriptura: LEST); one at the University of Girona (Estratègies d'assessorament i avaluació curricular: ASCUES); and one at the Open University of Catalonia (UsE-TIC).

In addition a number of researchers involved SINTE as the Master Teacher and Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology (MIPE and DIPE respectively), studies that have official mention of quality awarded by Spanish Ministry of Education .
